#SigurRosJKT

Sigur Ros is a post-rock band from Iceland who just held its very first concert in Indonesia, it was held on 10 May 2013. After all the struggles of saving money, I was finally able to buy the ticket. I went there with the person who introduced me with the band, my big brother.
They said the concert would be started at 7 p.m, being very excited we were, we arrived at 4 p.m. We really thought that the queuing line would've been started by then but turns out there was no line, all of the sudden people just gathered in front of the door. So basically I should have come much much later because the concert started at 9 pm.

My money only got me the tribune seats, but my seat was PERFECT. I was right in front of the stage and the distance wasn't far. I could see them very clearly. I also saw some people smoking cigarette on the festival area so I guess I was really lucky indeed.
I'm gonna tell you about the concert but please don't expect too much, I'm not a wordsmith....

I have heard people saying that you must at least watch Sigur Ros concert once before you die. I have heard people saying that Sigur Ros concert is really great. I also have watched some of their concert in youtube
and it was really cool indeed. But I didn't expect it to be this AMAZING

It was everything you could have asked. When we entered the hall, the stage was covered by huge white screen. I and my brother wondered how will they lifted up the screen, but they didn't. The first song started and images and videos were projected to the screen. Right behind the screen we could see their silhouettes playing their instrument. Damn it was gorgeous! The first song was Yfirborð I almost cried when I first heard Jonsi's voice.  The second song was Ný Batterí and that was the time when the screen effect got to the climax. They showed silhouettes of different member on each beats then they just let the screen fell and the crowd got wild.

This is their setlist:

Every song has its climax and new things to leave the audience in awe. When Hoppípolla came the crowd went wild again. I was frantic! I couldn't even turn my camera on, I had never been that happy this year.
In some songs the crowd made their own 'koor' and it drew smiles on their faces, jonsi also said 'thank you'.

My favorite moment was Ný Batter, Svefn-g-englar, Glósóli , Hoppipola, and definitely the encore Popplagið. Popplagio was mad! damnit, I couldn't even say a word, my mouth literally hanged open, and my eyes were fixed on the stage. Everyone turned on their video camera, and the crowd goes wilder as if it was possible.

I only knew half of the songs and I couldn't understand a word they were singing. But my emotion was crumpled up and shaken up. Their talent, their music, their stage act are something to be thankful for, and Jonsi's voice must be a gift from the God.

it was more than just a concert, it was almost like a spiritual journey. I guess the right word to describe the concert is 'magical'. Yes, the Sigur Ros concert was magical.

p.s at the end of the concert I heard someone said "Subhanallah, Subhanallah ya Allah itu keren banget". While I really agreed with him, I couldn't help but laughed.

lebaran

Lebaran part Tebet!

Whoa! it's Lebaran already! Minal aidzin Wal Faidzin :)
This Holy month comes to end. It's such a huge shame for me, I honestly feel that I really waste this month. I feel like  didn't do enough. I wish I'll still meet Ramadan next year. I swear I'll do better. Amin.

So, yesterday we celebrated Lebaran Ied in my home! Despite the fact that Mba Lia is going home to her village and all the mess will be my responsibility, it actually went really well

My mother is the oldest from 6 sisters, that's why we celebrate it here since my mother's parent have passed away. The foods were great! We had laksa, opor, rendang, dendeng, and ketupat for sure. I'm not a bog fan of ketupat, but I'll be damned if there's no ketupat in ied celebration.

Just like usual, of course there were "giving THR". Yep the part that all the kids and teenagers around Indonesia have been waiting. But am I the only one whose THR always decrease each year?

Okay, The "Giving THR" part was really fun! not only teens and kids but all the mothers also queued, and they were even fiercer than us. Looking at the photos bellow, I really wish you'd understand, we are not that greedy, it was also for the sake of festivity. LOL :D

Graduation.

I really don't know what to tell about this day, I woke up really early to get my hair and make up done, because the ceremonial started on 7:30 am. Once again, 7:30 AM! can you believe that? And to make it worse,  Angga, a friend of mine who I asked to give me a ride insisted that we should be going at least at 7. and by 7 am my hair was still untouched. So I decided to go with Icis instead. Icis' home my the salon weren't far away so  went there by becak. But the becak was pretty far, I walked for about a hundred meters, with Kebaya, makeup, and slippers. People stared at me strangely.  Alright you might don't wanna hear about my morning anymore..

So we went there by Icis' car, her father gave us a ride, but we were the last to arrive, the ceremony was already started so by the time we entered the room, everyone noticed and turned their head on us.
The graduation was not that great. It was fun indeed, but it was not memorable enough. I didn't even cry.  We took photos with almost everyone, said our goodbyes and gratitude to our teacher but that was it. By the time it was finished and people started heading home, I asked my self 'So this is it?'
It was too much of ceremony at first and nearing the end it was just 'blurry', I kept thinking it shouldn't end just like something awesome should be happening but nothing really happened. Just some random police man suddenly went up to the stage and sang.

Probably my biggest regret was, no one sang any song about Farewell. You know I really did expect some songs like 'Sheila On 7 - Kisah Klasik Untuk Masa Depan', but no one sang that. too bad.

But above all of those things, I was really happy to see all of them again, I really felt like hugging everyone even ones whom I never spoke with

Good Bye 7 Generation, and Thank You for the last 3 Years.
May the next time we meet, we'll already be a success person <3

Across The Sea With Science 3

On Monday 31st April we had a trip to various islands. It was a farewell trip to mark our last moments being together. We gathered at Riza's home at 06:00 am then went to Tanjung Pasir. We went there by 'angkot' that Riza's parent helped to rent. It wasn't the most comfortable transportation, and we were all cramped up. But being with them make me forget about those unimportant things.
First we went to the Onrust island, we saw a museum about that island in Deutch colonial's time. It was absolutely felt like a field trip LOL.  And then we went to the 'Kelor island' From afar that Island  seemed extremely gorgeous, with its white sand and old fort but as we came nearer, the beach was rather dirty and too 'declining'. So we couldn't play there. But we visited the old fort though. I understand why it had been named 'Kelor Island' the island was only as big as 'Kelor Leaf' (well not really but it was really small)
After much arguments and considering we finally chose to go to Untung Jawa island, because apparently to enter Bidadari island you need to pay for about Rp 60.000 and we refused to pay that much.

At Untung Jawa we stayed untill 4 p.m because it was raining and we were afraid about our sailing to go back home. We had so much fun, we played Banana Boat and basically going to the beach is fun even without doing anything extraordinary. I played two banana boat two time, it was really fun! I wonder since when I've been an adrenaline freak.  We exchanged gifts, mine was given to Cici, and I got a cute Angry Bird mug from Irma.

Here are the photos:::
